Tools are extensions of our brains. The technology that drives sensors has become amazingly cheap thus we’re able to collect massive data in unprecedented ways. This data contains valuable information that will drive insights, innovations, and discoveries. Using data visualization, we’re pairing science and design to simplify the complexity and drive a deeper understanding of the context in which we operate. Devices enable us to capture more invisible data and render it visible to analyze and process further. Self-monitoring triggers self knowledge and self awareness. This new and enormous potential about acquiring data provides potential in  our design explorations and ability for customized solutions.

DATA MINING  utilizing GRASSHOPPER PARAMETRIC PLUG-IN FOR RHINOCEROS 3D NURBS MODELING

hosted by RNL Design ~ downtown Denver 

Part 1 will focus on the nature of information processing and how it can be used to manipulate data, stream inputs from various sources and use datafeeds to inform geometry or data structures from the very simple up to more complex ones. The aim is to give an understanding of information and data articultion as already a spatial and architectural operation. Results may range from pure data communication protocols, dataviz or data-driven geometries.

    PART 02 : 12 HOURS – 2 sessions   SAT – SUN 6 hours per day
    DATA MILLING via cnc milling – 

    • Hands-on time-constrained collaborative prototyping will reinforce the notion that we are no longer seeking nor believing in only one viable solution but rather crafting our data to drive iterative outcomes within material & production constraints. Fabrication will exercise collaborative potential + issues while highlighting the creative resolve for time & economy of machining.
