HAVING A VIRTUAL CRITIC / LECTURER… WORTHWHILE EXPERIENCE?
I would say yes. In my mind it makes more sense to have a virtual critic than it does to fly some one from half way across the globe just to stand and talk about a subject. Funny that the embodied energy isn’t considered in the movement of people. Furthermore, have a virtual critic means you can talk with a wider array of some very influential people.
*
Absolutely. I was skeptical at first but it turned out to be awesome.
*
It makes perfect sense to enlist the views of a specialized professional to critique our work, the virtual forum is an untapped avenue for breaking the geographic disposition of Bozeman.
*
A virtual critic was a great experience. The simple idea of using skype allowed for criticism specific to our studio project and more importantly by a professional in practice. His level of experience specifically in digital fabrication made his comments much more valuable then the standard professor with not much background in digital fabrication. I also enjoy the idea behind not wasting money and people time to fly to MT.

I imagine this is only the beginning of a common practice in the future. Nice to see it work so smoothly

MICHAEL SILVER AS VIRTUAL CRITIC ?
Awesome
*
Great critic, obviously has a much deeper understanding of the tech. than we do and I was glad he gave philosophical criticism as well.
*
amazing and inspiring
*
Obviously well-seasoned in the industry and fabrication methods. I felt he was a perfectly qualified choice to review our project.
MICHAEL SILVER’s LECTURE ?
One of the best in my entire college experience. That includes our traveling lecture series that is normally held during the normal term.
*
Brilliant. to be honest made me more excited about digital design than the class did.
*
I would have like to have seen him, other than that, he was a valuable resource for critiquing our project.
*
IF YOU COULD SEND A COMMENT TO MICHAEL SILVER WHAT WOULD IT BE ?
I will be watching you closely…

Thanks for being a part of our class and giving an absolutely brilliant lecture! I will be in New York in September and would really like to check out your studio and what your currently working on. I feel like a majority of of people investigating digital design and fabrication are taking the same trajectory towards superfluous architecture- and felt that your research and ideas (especially fiber tech) has great potential in the future of architecture. I also really enjoyed your insight into the more theoretical aspects of your research (how it pertains to modernism) because I feel that we are deprived of thinking critically about theory at our school. Thanks again!
*Mike, I respect your time and hope you understand how valuable your lecture was to a group of young architects. I cant thank you enough for not only listening to our presentation, but giving us the time to hear about your latest explorations as well. You have left a great impression on our school in terms on digital fabrication. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Thank you for your time, we appreciate the option of an expert in this field.
