2012 focus…

In 2012 LaN continues to examine varying design parameters and customization… this time… looking within the ecology of the body.  Our bodies– immensely complex ecosystems– but ones in which incredibly accessible sensors (i.e for smart phones) are capable of tracking our biofeedback in a format useble for design inputs.

Instead of postulating absolutely immense-scale changes in the environment  (i.e. glacier melting in relation to global warming and man’s ongoing debated role in such) LaN is quite curious to collect (craft) LIVE DATA from our personal ecosystems in relation to our immediate built context.  Consider also how this presents the architectural strategy of data management / data visualization (vital to our processes with parametric modeling capabilities). The medical industry has so much to do with pattern recognition… a usual strength of the design-minded. How may medical realms drive our architecture;  how may our digital design + fabrication resources empower personal health matters?
